A Gaston woman has been ordered to repay nearly 34-thousand dollars for a welfare fraud conviction in Randolph County. 59-year-old Janie Sheffer was accused of accepting unemployment benefits while she was drawing a paycheck. The former resident of Winchester was handed a four-year sentence, with three years suspended and one year to be served on home detention.
