Crash into semi on U.S. 36 drags, traps driver

A Muncie man who crashed his car into the back of a semi on U.S. 36 was dragged 850 feet before the trucker was able to stop. 22-year-old Gabriel Smith was pinned in his Charger and suffered “multiple injuries” according to emergency personnel. He was taken to Reid Hospital in Richmond. The crash in southwestern Randolph County was called in about 6:30 a.m. this morning.
