Convicted murderer asks for early release

A man convicted when he was 17 of an Eaton man’s murder is asking for release after serving 31 years of a 114 year sentence. Matthew Stidham is now 42, serving time at Indiana State Prison in Michigan City. In his petition, he says he is reformed, and questions the fairness of his sentence, which he says is like a sentence of life without parole. A hearing has not yet been set to consider his appeal.
