Blighted properties eyed by County

There are thousands of abandoned properties in Muncie, and County Commissioners are moving forward to get rid of them. Yesterday, the Commisioners began the process of either demolishing the houses on the parcels, selling them or finding other ways to clear them. They are looking at a online sale of many of the properties, which are delinquent on taxes, or sell them at the fall tax sale. Muncie’s historic preservation officer asked the commission to turn over about 50 properties to them for redevelopment.
