Top Dem Drops Out Of 5th District Race

The expected front-runner for the Democratic nomination in the 5th Congressional District has suspended his campaign. The Herald Bulletin reports that Shawn Denney, of Indianapolis, says after discussions with family and friends he decided to focus his efforts at the local level and suspended the campaign. Denney captured the party nomination in a three-person contested primary election receiving, 48 percent of the vote. Denney went on to lose to Republican Susan Brooks.
