City holding on to funds for lot cleanup over underground tank concerns

The site of the former Budget Inn on MLK Jr. Blvd. is the topic of discussion for city officials, who have refused to release $22,000 in funds provided by the former land owners for clean up because the city says the job is not done. Shroyer Brothers cleared the lot but concrete pads remain, and the city is concerned about underground tanks from the previous gas station. The board continued the issue until it’s meeting in February.
