After last week’s legislature failed to act on the bill that would have given Ball State control of Muncie Community Schools, Governor Eric Holcomb is calling for a special session to complete unfinished business. The special session will take place in May, and lawmakers will discuss giving a 12-million dollar state loan to financially distressed Muncie Community Schools.
Senate Democratic Leader Tim Lanane of Anderson says the public shouldn’t have to spend $30,000 a day for a special session and goes on to say there is no reason why the Republican supermajority couldn’t get all bills passed on time.
