The state board of education has voted 7-to-4 to implement new graduation requirements beginning with the 2019 freshman class. Students will still have to pass general coursework for a high school diploma and take the SAT & ACT, but will also have to demonstrate employability skills. State Superintendent Jennifer McCormick says she’s disappointed in the vote.
