Delaware County Hires Firm To Explore Jail Funding

Delaware County is hiring an Indianapolis law firm to look into financing options for building a jail. The State Jail Inspector says currently, the lockup, on the second floor of the Delaware County Justice Center, isn’t up to standards. Frequently the jail runs over its maximum 200 inmate capacity. Coupled with understaffing there are concerns it could lead to an incident in the jail.
