Another 5 percent chopped from the 2018 budget. That’s the request from Madison County Council. After a 4-3 vote they sent a letter to officeholders and department heads asking for the adjustment. The proposed reductions are to be in the Auditor’s Office by Sept. 27. The next council meeting will be Oct. 3.
