The Star-Press is reporting that a witness told Muncie police that the man charged in the killing of 18-year old Christian Michael Orebaugh back in 2015…admitted to firing the fatal shot.
The now-18-year old Balfour was arrested 10 days ago on charges stemming from that killing. Court documents in the case had been sealed until police arrested 17-year old Daveon Hendricks.
The court documents show both teens are charged with murder, attempted robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery. They say two other men went to Orebaugh’s home to buy marijuana on the night of July 2, 2015. A short time later, Balfour and Hendricks allegedly went into the house with guns drawn to rob Orebaugh of cash and drugs.
Balfour’s trial is set to start Dec. 11. Hendricks is set to appear at an initial hearing Wednesday.
