More than a decade after he was convicted in the shotgun slaying of his girlfriend, a Sulphur Springs man is standing trial for a second time. 39-year-old Andrew McWhorter was found guilty in 2006 of voluntary manslaughter in the death of Amanda Leanne Deweese. A state appeals court, found his defense attorney should have objected to the wording of instruction given to jurors before their deliberations.
