A new property tax could be coming to Madison County as Commissioners search for ways to pay to fix scores of bridges. The idea will be discussed further at the panel’s next meeting, but the tax in mind wouldn’t exceed around 3 cents per hundred dollars of assessed value and would raise about $800,000 per year.
