Ransomware Attack Strikes Muncie Cancer Services Agency

A ransomware attack struck a Muncie-based cancer services center recently. WTHR reports Cancer Services of East Central Indiana – Little Red Door’s terminal server and backup drive were hacked a week ago. The agency’s data was stripped, encrypted and then taken for ransom. Ultimately, the agency got a ransom note for 50 bitcoins or about $43,000. The agency notified anyone those affected by the breach and told them not to open suspicious emails. The agency says it won’t pay the ransom.
