Murder Conviction Upheld For Martz

The Indiana Court of Appeals has upheld the murder conviction of an Eaton man who fatally shot a longtime friend. 61-year-old William Martz maintained he had received “ineffective assistance” from his public defender. Martz was found guilty last November of killing Mark Gilland, also of Eaton, in January 2014 and was handed a 60 year prison sentence.
