A spokesman for John Gregg’s campaign for governor says the Democrat has never hid the fact that he continues to have state-funded health insurance 14 years after he left the legislature. Gregg took advantage of a program enacted while he was House Speaker that allowed lawmakers to hold on to their insurance for life. The program was dropped for new lawmakers in 2006.
