Missing man found safe

A Marion man missing since Friday morning was found Monday at a weigh station along I-70 near Richmond.  William Timmons, 75, was a little confused and dehydrated but otherwise okay.  Officials think Timmons’ car had run out of gas and had been sitting at the weigh station since Saturday.

Both sides discussing building issue

There’s hope of a compromise in a possible battle over the latest $75 million building project in the Greenfield-Central schools.  The new battle comes after a compromise was reached between school officials and opponents of a $100 million construction plan.  Another remonstrance could occur if no agreement is reached.

Vince's gift card deal reached

There’s apparently a deal in place to honor gift cards from the now-closed Vince’s Restaurant at the Delaware County Airport.  The Delaware Country Club will accept the gift cards through March 31.  If you plan to take advantage of the offer you should call the country club for reservations at 288-0238 Monday through Friday from nine a.m. to four p.m.

Water line work will result in road restrictions

A reminder from the Delaware County engineering department…the northbound lane of Country Club Road will be closed during the daytime hours north of State Road 32 both this week and next week along with January 29.  A water main is being installed.  A flag man will be on site to help direct traffic around the construction area.

Pence making district stops

6th District Congressman Mike Pence (R-Columbus) will be in Muncie and Anderson Monday and Tuesday for a series of events.  On Monday he’ll attend the Anderson MLK program at the Paramount Theater at noon and the MLK program along Broadway Avenue in Muncie at 1 p.m.  He’ll also speak at the MLK program at Christ Temple Church at 7p.m.  Finally he’ll hold a public town hall meeting at 9 a.m. Tuesday at Muncie City Hall.

Man killed in fiery accident

A rural Fairmount man died in a Grant County crash early Sunday morning.  Jacob Cox, 25, apparently lost control of his vehicle on County Road 150E. The vehicle left the road, hit two trees and caught fire.  Officials found the badly-burned Cox lying near the wreckage in a field.
