$450 Million In Tonight’s Powerball Drawing

Someone could take home $450 million in tonight’s Powerball drawing. It’s the largest since February of last year. Indiana still leads the nation so far with 38 Powerball jackpot wins. Hoosier Lottery Spokesman Jerry Grider says the lottery is good for Indiana. He says in fiscal year 2013, the Hoosier Lottery contributed $164.5 million to the Build Indiana Fund.

Victim Says One Suspect Has “Tattoo Of Hitler” On Forehead

Police are searching for three armed robbery suspects who robbed an Elwood man after they met with him to buy tools. The man told investigators that the three men hit him in the head with a club and stole about $1,000 worth of construction tools and his cell phone. One of the perpetrators should be easy to locate. The victim says the man had a tattoo of Hitler on his forehead.

Muncie Man Facing Charges Here And In Indy

A Muncie man preparing for his murder trial in Indianapolis was back in Delaware County yesterday in another case, this time for drug possession. 27-year-old Martize Kirkland took a plea deal with sentencing is set for January 14th. His trial in Marion County is set to begin this month for the death of 23-year-old Jeremy Johnson of Muncie. Police say Kirkland lured the victim to an abandoned house in Indy and killed him over drugs.

Former EMT Gets 30 Year Sentence

Its 30 months in prison for a former emergency medical technician: A former EMT returning a non-verbal patient from a medical appointment in Carmel to her Wabash facility where she lives admitted in court to sexually abusing the woman while in the ambulance. 32-year-old Kyle Myers of Muncie was sentenced to 30 months in prison yesterday in Wabash Circuit Court. The victim told staffers, apparently in writing, about the sexual battery. Meyers was fired from Heartland Ambulance.

DUI Driver Tests .34 BAC

A Muncie woman with previous drunk driving convictions was found passed out behind the wheel of her SUV. Megan Hamilton was charged with DUI, and police say her blood alcohol level was .34 percent. She was found slumped over the wheel at Indiana 3 and County Road 800-North. She told the deputy she’d been drinking at a Muncie restaurant.

Elwood Requests Properties From County

The city of Elwood has requested that Madison County donate 43 properties to be demolished through the Blight Elimination Program. The Madison County Board of Commissioners took the request under advisement for two weeks to determine the legal steps required for the transfer of the property.

DelCo Fair Board Elects 2016 Officers

The Delaware County Fair Board held elections for their 2016 officers Tuesday night. Elected were President – Mark Di Fabio, Vice Presidents – Larry Clendenin, Jim Glore, Bart Keesling, Melanie Marshall and Dan White. Treasurer – Donna Patterson and Secretary, Pam McCammon. Members of the fair board will attend their state conference of fairs & festivals in Indianapolis this weekend; culminating with the State Fair Queen Contest on Sunday with Delaware County queen Cortland Boggs participating.

Muncie woman facing DUI charge, again

A Muncie woman with previous drunk driving convictions was found passed out behind the wheel of her SUV last week. Megan Hamilton was charged with DUI, and police say her blood alcohol level was .34 percent. She was found slumped over the wheel at Indiana 3 and County Road 800-North about 10:45 p.m. Wednesday. She told the deputy she’d been drinking since 5 p.m. at a Muncie restaurant. She remains in Delaware County jail under a bond of $7,500.
