A deal is close to being finalized for a new restaurant at the Delaware County Airport. Muncie Aviation is working out a deal with CEPT Incorporated of South Bend to operate a restaurant at the site of the former Vinces. The restaurant closed when the current operators pulled out just before New Years Day.
A Lawrence teen was formally charged Tuesday in a Carmel police chase that occurred Friday. Javier Tepehua-Xique, 18, also faces charges of residential entry, burglary, resisting law enforcement and carrying a handgun without a permit. Three teenage boys who were with him during the chase have also been charged.
Area police were busy with accidents Tuesday morning as a result of the light snow and freezing conditions. Madison County sheriffs deputies worked eight crashes, with four resulting in injuries. Police in Muncie and Delaware County responded to 38 crashes blamed on the weather, while Henry County deputies dealt with five crashes
Kyle Persinger will continue as Grant Countys attorney for another year. The county commissioners approved a one-year contract with Persinger during a meeting Tuesday.
The Mississinewa Community Schools will no longer offer school bus rides between the Community Childrens Academy and Northview Elementary School effective February 1. That has some parents who will be forced to transport their children themselves complaining. School officials say they cant risk the liability of transporting children on an overcrowded bus.

The Indiana Horse Racing Commission has approved a timeline for the transfer of Hoosier Parks ownership from Churchill Downs to Centaur LLC. The timeline for transfer of the Anderson track to Centaur includes a public hearing during the commissions meeting on February 27 beginning at 9 a.m.
