New Grant County Assessor Tami Martin has eliminated the position of supervisor for the reassessment department. It just so happens that job was held by Jerry Walters, the wife of former Assessor Jay Walters, who support Martins opponent in the primary election.

New Hancock County Sheriff Bud Gray has made several changes to the department. Hes placed deputies and dispatchers on 12-hour shifts and has put five new people in the departments detective division. The departments K-9 unit is also being revived.

The Anderson YMCA is taking applications for the Kids Zone before and after-school programs. Applications are available at all elementary schools and the YMCA downtown. The programs take the place of efforts by the now-defunct Family Network Agency.
Traffic signals are being installed at the I-69/State Road 18 interchange on Marions eastern edge. Officials say the signals should improve traffic flow and safety in the area.
