Tough going

Three Anderson restaurants have closed in recent months, but officials aren’t concerned.  Morano’s on the Meridian, Penguin Point and Best Drive Thru Feed Barn have all closed.  Morano’s depended on downtown traffic during the day and in the evening, while Penguin Point had to compete with many other restaurants along Scatterfield Road.

Big time wind chill

Wind gusts of 45 miles-per-hour and sustained winds in the 20-to-25 mile-per-hour range caused some whiteout conditions in Grant County Saturday.  No major problems were reported as a result of the wintry conditions.

Connersville is feeling the effects of a shrinking auto industry.  Visteon will close in September.  The auto parts supplier will let go about 900 people.  The shop has been a major employer in Connersville for four generations.
