The Hamilton County 4H Council will open a new, 10,000 squarefoot multipurpose building at the county fairgrounds by summer. The county council has approved the $154,000 project that is being paid for through donations. It will primarily be used for llamas during the county fair, but other programs can also be held in the building.

A Hamilton County murder trial is under way. Willie Dumes, 32, of Indianapolis is accused with shooting and killing Stephanie Gillum, 20 of Fishers, outside a Carmel apartment complex in August of 2004.

A crash along a Jay County road Monday knocked out power to about 50 people. Indiana-Michigan officials say power was restored about two-and-a-half hours after the accident. The driver of the car, Nathan Crisler, 19, wasnt hurt.
Madison County government will borrow nearly $5.5 million to make ends meet between property tax draws. The county council authorized plans to take out a loan during an emergency meeting Monday. The final amount is less the county officials feared. The Indiana Bond Bank will provide the loan.
The murder trial of Gas City resident Joyce Hawkins begins Tuesday in Grant County. Shes accused in the shooting death of her husband, Timmy Ray Hawkins, whose remains have never been found. Prosecutors also dont have the murder weapon in the case.
