The gypsy moth has invaded four Yorktown neighborhoods. The Indiana Department of Natural Resources is devising a plan to eradicate the moths, which can destroy healthy trees by eating the leaves.

The first Anderson mayoral candidate to formally file for the primary election did so in grand fashion Wednesday. Kris Ockomon arrived at the Madison County Government Center at 6:30 a.m. so he could be the first to formally enter the race. Union City officials say they need volunteers to help remove Christmas lights from Harter Park. The effort takes place from 9 a.m. – 12 noon Saturday. The lights were put in place for the holiday celebration called A Community Christmas.
