A FEDERAL BANKRUPTCY JUDGE WAS ASKED TO DELAY A RULING TO CANCEL UNION LABOR CONTRACTS AT SEVERAL DANA CORPORATION PLANTS, INCLUDING THE ONE IN MARION. Schools receive funding from state for full-day kindergarten

SCHOOLS ACROSS THE STATE ARE LIKELY TO MOVE FORWARD WITH FULL-DAY KINDERGARTEN PROGRAMS, FOLLOWING THE LEGISLATURE’S DECSION TO PARTIALLY FUND THE INITIATIVE. MONEY WILL NOW COME IN THE FORM OF GRANTS. THE STATE WILL PROVIDE $90 MILLION TOWARDS FULL-DAY KINDERGARTEN BY 2009, EVEN THOUGH IT IS $70 MILLION LESS THAN GOVERNOR DANIELS HAD ASKED FOR.
