Pastors avoid jail time in Marion County

Marion County prosecutors and five clergy members signed diversion agreements yesterday and agreed to pay 150-dollar fines for blocking a Downtown Indianapolis building last month.  The pastors were protesting to show support for janitors on May 17th at Market Tower on Market Street.  Reverend Darren Cushman-Wood says the clergymen were protesting what they say were “poverty wages” being paid to the people who clean the building.  He says they were targeting Executive Management Services, the company that holds the janitorial contract for Market Tower.
