Indianapolis K-9 shot and killed in the line of duty

An Indianapolis police department K-9 was shot and killed Thursday after a residential burglary led to a car chase.  Authorities say Officer Scott Johnson shot and wounded 21-year-old Clinton Hernandez after he opened fire on Johnson’s dog, Bo.  Hernandez tried to flee on foot after leading police on a car chase. Johnson then released Bo in pursuit of the suspect when Hernandez shot the dog with a 9-mm handgun.  Bo was eight years old.
