Officer Accused Of Trafficking With Inmate
A Pendleton corrections officer has been arrested on charges of trafficking with an inmate. Officers questioned Ernest Bertram after receiving a tip that he may have be trafficking with offenders housed at the Pendleton Correctional Facility. A prison spokesperson says trafficking in any type of contraband with an offender is inexcusable.

Truckers To Hold ‘Slow Roll Protest’ On I-465
Truck drivers are planning a “slow roll” around I-465 Thursday as part of a protest against government regulations. Organizers said truck drivers will take two laps around 465 while going between 45 and 50 miles per hour around 11 a.m. tomorrow. The slow roll could include up to 500 trucks.
Elwood Bandit Wearing Skull Mask Robs Store
Elwood Police are searching for a man wearing a skull mask during an armed robbery. Investigators say the man entered the Check into Cash store, showed the clerk his pistol, demanded money and then left with the cash. They set up a perimeter and tried to track the suspect to no avail.
Appeals Court: Anderson Man Must Serve Sentence
The Indiana Court of Appeals says an Anderson man who failed to register as a sex offender violated his probation and must serve all three years of a previously suspended sentence. Kevin Christopher Tharp had appealed his initial ruling saying his violations were technical, the evidence against him insufficient and a lesser sanction was warranted.
Purdue Freezes Tuition For 2020-2021
For the eighth straight year Purdue University is freezing tuition. The tuition costs will be the same for the 2020-2021 academic year as it was in 2012. Indiana residents will continue to pay less than $10,000 a year in tuition.
