Relocating A Madison County Monument

The National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution is planning to relocate the monument dedicated to Anderson High School students who died in World War 1. The Chapter’s regent, Cecilia Calvert had been looking for service projects with historical significance and decided the relocation in its centennial year would be perfect. Calvert and John Dick have discussed plans to move the obelisk to Maplewood Cemetery this fall. Local businesses and people are also fundraising to pay for the 5-thousand-dollar move.
