How The City Has Been Spending TIF Money

A large chunk of money raised from Tax Increment Financing through the Muncie Development Commission has gone to pay for city streets and public safety. The Star Press reports Mayor Tyler allocated $8.6 million dollars in all from the fund for city expenses including more than $5 million for road projects and another $1.3 million for police and fire operations, plus, $665,000 for a new roof for Muncie City Hall and $500,000 toward the new Animal Care and Services shelter on Riggin Road.
