Police Being Paid To Guard Demolition Sites

Police guarding demolition sites in Muncie is adding up to substantial dollars. The Muncie Sanitary District has paid officers more than $11,000 this year to watch sites in the Whitely neighborhood where the district has purchased houses with the goal of tearing them down. It’s an effort to curb vandalism until that happens, say police.
