The flu has claimed the life of a young Muncie girl. The Delaware County Coroner has drawn that conclusion and if a follow up medical exam confirms it, it would the first death directly from the flu this season. Officials say the four year old child had been hospitalized for the flu but was at home when she died. While it’s not the first flu-related death in the county it would be the first strictly caused by influenza.
