Muncie officials responded to allegations that the city denied a Freedom of Information Act request filed on November 2.
In a very brief press conference, Mayor Dennis Tyler said he wanted to clear up miscommunication about the FOIA request and referred all questions to a legal team. The city attorney says the press conference was in response to an article that appeared in the Star Press.
The newspaper says the city refused to release any details of contracts or pay for three Indianapolis attorneys hired to defend the city of Muncie and Mayor Dennis Tyler from a lawsuit filed by the former police chief Steve Stewart.
