There’s a new owner for the troubled Red Carpet Inn. The motel, on South Madison Street had been shut down by the city for unsafe conditions. The property was bought at auction for $370,000 by Hilco Real Estate, which the Star Press reports, conducted the auction for the bankruptcy court. It will move for the building to be demolished at Thursday’s meeting of the Unsafe Building Hearing Authority.
