Phase one of remediation work at the Madison County Government Center happened over the weekend. Star Environmental took out material used for fireproofing that contains asbestos from a room on the first floor. Air samples taken after that happened came back clean throughou the building. Next they’ll put in a new boiler system so the place can be heated more efficiently this winter.
