Old Fort Wayne School Sold To Neighboring Quarry

Fort Wayne’s former Elmhurst High School is being sold to the company that owns a limestone quarry bordering the longtime school property. The Fort Wayne Community Schools board voted unanimously Monday night to approve the $600,000 sale to Hanson Aggregates Midwest. The company hasn’t said what it plans for the property on the city’s southwest side. Elmhurst was closed in 2010 in a budget-cutting move.
