Madison County to Start Asbestos Removal in Government Center

Nearly a year after it was first discovered, Madison County is starting the process of removing asbestors in the county Government Center.

Back in October of last year, installers of the building’s new HVAC system discovered the material. Last month, the county hired a firm to test air quality, and found no asbestos present in any samples taken at the Government Center.

That same firm, though, advised county leaders not to do any further work or disturb any sprayed-on fireproofing until the asbestos has been removed.
