A lawsuit might follow the clearing of trees and bushes from along hundreds of yards of the Cardinal Greenway trail north of Muncie. The clear-cutting was done with bulldozers and other heavy equipment along less than a half-mile of the walking and biking trail near Ind. 28 and Nebo Road in the past few weeks. On Friday, heavy equipment remained in a field along the greenway north of the highway. While much of the vegetation is gone, tree roots and limbs remained in a large pile near Ind. 28.Not only were trees and bushes removed from Cardinal Greenway property along the trail & a former railroad line before the trail was created more than 20 years ago; but the contractor “crossed the trail with heavy equipment,” Angie Pool, chief executive officer of Cardinal Greenways, told The Star Press.
