Windy conditions contributed to a minor fire that damaged the roof of a vacant Anderson storefront. Workers were cutting the metal roof of the shopping center in the 2100 block of South Scatterfield Road. It took only a few minutes for firefighters to douse the flames. Investigators and Anderson’s building commissioner were called in to evaluate the building.
