The Muncie JC Penney has been spared in the latest round of store closures announced by the nationwide retailer. Five Indiana stores will be vacated in the state within the next couple of months. The JC Penney location will remain one of the anchor stores in the Muncie Mall on Granville Avenue which opened in 1970.
