The neglect trial of Crystal Sells gets underway today. The 23-year-old Sells was arrested and charged in January 2015 on allegations that she battered, neglected and confined her niece in her stepmother’s Anderson home. The defendant’s guardian, Stephen Sells, and stepmother, Joetta Sells, each were sentenced last year to 24 years in prison.
