Madison County Republican Party chairman Russ Willis is being challenged in his bid to lead the local party for the next four years. The Herald Bulletin reports that Willis will face Alex Valdez when the precinct committeemen meet March 4 to elect a chairman. Willis is completing his first term after defeating Richard Brown in 2013. Valdez moved to Anderson from California three years ago.
