Gov. Pence, “Treat Addiction As A Health Issue”

A drug task force convened by Gov. Mike Pence says the state of Indiana should treat addiction as a public health issue, rather than a criminal one. The task force itself was authorized in 2014 by the Indiana General Assembly and is comprised of 50 members from the law enforcement, public health, legislative and faith communities. The latest report touts success in curbing the Scott County HIV outbreak on the heels of implementing a needle exchange program.
