It’s a decision that’s sure to ruffle a lot of feathers: the Anderson Plan Commission has chickened out on a new proposal to allow hens to be kept inside city limits. City ordinance says it’s illegal to have livestock–including chickens–on your property. If you want own chickens, you have to get special permission. The tabled proposal would have made keeping hens–but not roosters–legal. City leaders will revisit the proposal if data actually shows that people want to keep chickens in town.
