Homeless man died from smoke inhalation, coroner says

The Delaware County Coroner has ruled the apparent homeless man who died in a burning house on Saturday died of smoke inhalation. 55-year-old Gregory Jackson Sr. was not the victim of violence or foul play, and had been living in the abandoned house in the 600 block of North Madison Street. The Star Press is reporting today the man lived most of his life in New Castle, and used candles in the house since there was no electricity in the vacant home.
