Holiday Travel Expected To Be Heavy

Memorial Day weekend traditionally starts the summer travel season, and this weekend is shaping up to be the busiest in the Hoosier State in years. With the 100th running of the Indianapolis 500 Race and lower fuel prices, Hoosiers can expect a record number of motorists on roadways and interstates. Lieutenant Tom Dujmovich, of the Pendleton State Police Post, is reminding drivers that “Click it or Ticket” and Operation CARE are in effect this upcoming holiday weekend. Motorists will see an increased police presence over much of the state, including the Pendleton District which covers Delaware, Madison, and Randolph; Henry, Wayne, Union, Rush and Fayette counties.
