Muncie man jailed for criticism of judge files lawsuit

Muncie resident Curtis Westbrook has filed a lawsuit against Muncie City Court and the Delaware County Sheriff’s Department for an case that landed the judge out of a job last year. Muncie City Court Judge Dianna Bennington resigned from that job as part of an “agreement for discipline” approved by the Indiana Supreme Court after she had 13 misconduct allegations filed against her for how she handled some cases. Westbrook wants a public apology for being incarcerated for 10 days for circulating fliers that criticized the judge, clearing his record and financial compensation.
