The proposed White River Canal District plan is moving forward, after the city agreed to buy a downtown building on West Washington Street. The plan is to make the building office space, or it could be torn down. Either way, the parcel is part of the $48 million redevelopment plan that will upgrade the area between Muncie City Hall and White River, providing new residential and commercial space.
