Blackford County residents are being warned of a payment scam involving the sheriff’s office. Major Jeff Sones with the Blackford County Sheriff’s Department says a resident reported they were contacted “by a male caller who stated he was with the Sheriff’s Office and wanted payment on an online loan.” Sones warns that the Sheriff’s Office does not call directly and ask for payments.
