For East Central Indiana residents searching for volunteer opportunities in the region, yesterday’s Converge event at the Horizon Convention Center helped connect local non-profits with volunteers ready to give of their time. Described as a “job fair for volunteers”, Converge has helped to recruit a total of 150 volunteers in the last three years. Yesterday, 48 agencies had representatives on hand to address any questions visitors had about their programs.

Grief counselors are available at Noblesville High School today to help students deal with the death of a fellow classmate. 16-year-old Aubrey Peters of Noblesville died at an area hospital after being shot in the chest late Sunday. Police have arrested 20-yr-old Jacob McDaniel and charged him with criminal recklessness and pointing a firearm.09.12.13
