A Portland teenager accused of putting rat poison in her parents’ coffee grounds will be prosecuted as a juvenile. Authorities are saying little about the case because juvenile proceedings are closed to the public, but here’s what we can tell you. The 16-year-old girl, taken into custody at Jay County High School, is reportedly being held at the Delaware County Juvenile Detention Center. The teen will not be charged with attempted murder, a count that would result in an automatic waiver into adult court.
